First rays of morning light hit my eyes, and the blaring buzzing of my alarm stirs my senses. Drifting away from dreams of my fleeting summer and days free of lesson plans and staff meetings, I’m awakened to the thoughts of a new year. New students to meet and butcher their names. Gazing at a tome devoid. No words, no sentences. Nothing but paper stained yellow and speckled with bits of ash. A tabula rasa for would-be poets, scribes without names or meaning, rambling on for pages about the images formed from clouds in the sky filled from the crown to the toe top of teenage angst and phony ideals of love. This brave new world begging to begin "Once upon a time..." will never find "The end" so long as the new-age Homers refuse to sail the savage seas of imagination with ink-stained hands to the promised lands of tomorrow.

There are two girls in which my love does thrive. They both treat me as if I were of gold. When I am around them, I feel alive. My times without them make me feel so cold. I'm a 30 year old teacher that loves reading and writing but wishes I had more time for both things. I'm currently finishing up getting my Masters degree in English at WIU-QC.

I love writing stories, poems, and novels. I enjoy teaching and reading both classics and fantastical stories. I'm addicted to Netflix and the interwebs, and I wish that I could get myself to play more video games and just relax more in life. I love creating worlds that for both myself and others.

I'm getting old.

The last time I posted anything really on here was back in 2008.  My God, where has the time gone? I started my Livejournal account back in college.  I was 21 at the time, and I was a ball of inspiration.  You could never get me to stop creating and thinking about creating. And now I'm 30 years old, have a job, a significant other, a house, two cats and a dog, and almost a Masters degree. Where did the time go for my creative endeavors? Things that I'm working on in a writing/creative sense: - My Master's Thesis.  Come July I'll officially be Master Lister?  Nah.  It just doesn't have the right ring to it. - Creating roleplaying games f

Getting back to basics

Wow, a DA journaling experience! I started my second year of school.  Wootage.  Glad to be back for the most part.  Gotta change lives and all that shiznit. I went back to my first two novels in my trilogy and have been doing some work for once.  Did a preliminary re-read and editing for my second novel so that I'm up to date on what's going on in it.  I plan on writing sometime, perhaps even at school on my breaks if I ever have a spare moment or two.  Also trying to look into publication again for my first novel.  Yeah...fourth time's a charm? Maybe I'll get around to posting something new on here one day...I have a photo I want to take
